Gil is a character who appears in Summer Vacation[1].
Bun-bun ends up marooned on a small island with Gil. Gil accidentally disrupts several attempts to get help; he had a flare gun but converted it into a bong to smoke pot, and soaked the pyre for a signal fire with a wine cooler (which didn't contain enough alcohol to be flammable). Bun-bun finally attracts the notice of a passing ship by setting Gil himself on fire.
Gil is a parody of Gilligan from Gilligan's Island.
